2026 Economic Outlook Seminar

For nearly two decades, the Economic Outlook Seminar has been a cornerstone event for South Dakota’s business community, held each year on the first Tuesday of October in Sioux Falls. The seminar pairs an in-depth annual review of South Dakota economic trends, benchmarked against national conditions, with a moderated panel on a timely, high impact topic. Economist Joe Santos, Ph.D. (SDSU Ness School of Management and Economics) has anchored the analysis for many years. Recent themes include “Building a Better South Dakota” (2025) and a 2024 discussion on cybersecurity and AI. The event draws several hundred business leaders, elected officials, and Chamber members from across the state.
